Internet Slap Fight: E-Sports vs Journalists
This was originally meant to be a Twitter rant, but then it expanded to about 20 updates, so instead it’ll live here on the tumble-machine. The subject? Why defenders of e-sports tend to FLIP THE FUCK OUT whenever their hobby is questioned.
I hope every punk-ass kid who ever said anything bad about competitive Fighting games because it “ruined” Smash Bros sees this.
A Comic(al) Dilemma
Okay so I want to spend about thirty dollars a month on comic books, right? Problem is, I want too many books. What do I do?!
I’m going to be getting a bunch of yearly subscriptions from Marvel’s official website, but that’s yearly costs so I’m not counting it towards my thirty per month. Most of those are the standard stuff (Spidey, FF, Uncanny X-Men, Uncanny X-Force, Cap, Iron Man, the Avengers books) and I’m pretty deadset on all of them. The rest I’ll be buying at DCBS for around $1.60, but even when they’re that cheap it’s still tough to get all the ones I want for $30.
Right now from Marvel I’m thinking about the following…
Avengers Academy
Journey Into Mystery
Incredible Hulks
New Mutants
Generation Hope
Deadpool
Alpha Flight
Thunderbolts
Daredevil
Black Panther: The Man Without Fear
Heroes for Hire
For DC, post-relaunch, I’m thinking about these… and this is where we get messy, because I’m really not sure about a lot of them:
Justice League
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
The Flash
The Fury of Firestorm
Justice League International
Mister Terrific
Green Lantern
Batman
Detective Comics
Birds of Prey
Batwoman
Nightwing
Batwing
Swamp Thing
Animal Man
Justice League Dark
Teen Titans
Static Shock
Blue Beetle
Action Comics
Superman: The Man of Tomorrow
Supergirl
Superboy
As you can see, that’s… a lot of comics. I just don’t have that kind of money, but I can’t decide which ones to let go of! I want to support the minority comics because otherwise I’ll feel guilty when they get canceled (which they will) but I’m still not sure about Batwing… I’m just not a fan of Judd Winnick. I know I don’t really use this Tumblr and I don’t even know how many followers I have really, but, whatever.

Tommy of the Snowboard Kids series, Nintendo 64
This kid is the worst. Snowboarder. EVER. The sound of him smacking into walls and tripping over rocks haunts me to this day.
“OOH-OOH. OOH-OOH.”
SNOWBOARD KIDS HELL YES

I, for one, welcome our new funky overlords.
(I will be on vacation until next Tuesday, so no new updates til then! But I will have a cool announcement for you when I get back!!
Also, click on the image [or the link under the image if you’re on the Dashboard] to jam out.)
The two unsung heroes of my childhood. Sonic and Tails may be my main bros, but this funky duo was just as cool for many years and still are as far as I’m concerned.
DC Women Kicking Ass: More DCnU news from the DC Road show; updates on Batgirl (s)!
Bleeding Cool has posted a report from Friday’s visit to NYC of, as I am now going to call it, “Dr. Lee and Dr. Johns’ Traveling DCnU Road Show band”. And it has a few items of interest to those interested in characters of the Batgirl persuasion.
- It was hinted that Stephanie Brown may turn up…
I would so buy the shit out of a Cassandra Cain solo book. Or any book she shows up in. Make it happen, DC. Seriously.
Just updated for DCnU! Rip Hunter’s Blackboard!
Rip’s blackboard has shown up at the start of 52 and most recently in Time Masters foretelling Flashpoint:
And now, as offered “Inframan” on the Jinx boards here’s the DCnU one which is particularly timely given the updates from the DC Roadshow.
The 90s are indeed the future
thanks “pq” for the tip.
HELL YEAH ROB LIEFELD AND JIM LEE GO GO 90’S GO

Mike Marts of DC hopped over to IGN this morning to give some updates on the Batbooks. As many of you know, a number of the Bat covers were posted to the DCU blog over the weekend.
The big news. Batman & Robin continues with Bruce and Damian and with Tomasi and Gleason as the team. Here’s the…
I was hoping to see Tim Drake go back to Robin duties. I’m gonna guess Tim will still be Red Robin, gratuitous six pack and all… gross.
One of the only things I liked about Damian was his relationship with Bruce. I thought it was interesting that Bruce spent so many years bringing up the three Robins yet practically ignored his own biological son. Pairing them up as the dynamic duo kind of ruins the character for me.
Oh well.
